Here’s what our MLEIP Partners have to saY:

Oncor has been a proud corporate sponsor of the MLEIP program for 30 years. During that time, we have provided more than 50 STEAM majors the opportunity to gain new skills and prepare for their future careers through internships with Oncor. In fact, our company currently benefits from 7 former interns who have become fulltime Oncor employees. Oncor is excited about continuing our partnership with the MLEIP and working together to develop the next generation of environmental leaders.

Since its inception, the MLEIP has provided valuable exposure of state policy implementation and public service to the next generation of leaders. The combined mentoring and resulting experience obtained is most valuable for emerging scholars preparing for career opportunities. We are fortunate to have a structured program in Texas like the MLEIP that “opens doors” to the best and brightest, and guides those seeking to make an impact in the field of environmental quality protection.

Buddy Garcia
President, Modern Stewardship
TCEQ Chairman/Commissioner, 2007-2012

We have participated in MLEIP for about 8 years, and hired 20 summer interns during that time. Close to half of our interns have been subsequently hired as full-time employees.  The program makes it easy to select highly qualified, motivated interns from a diverse candidate pool.  The partnerships that have evolved from our participation in MLEIP have been invaluable to both the student and our organization.

Jennifer Adams
Director, Senior Consultant, Braun Intertec

The MLEIP assists in the placement of motivated college students in real world assignments that enhance skill sets and provide valuable experience. The benefits of the program extend well beyond the interns. MLEIP allows employers to assess how today’s intern can meet tomorrow’s future full-time need. I encourage Texas firms to partner with the TCEQ in placing these interns. You will find the value to you is as great as the opportunity provided to these students.

Carlos Rubinstein
Principal, RSAH2O LLC
TCEQ Commissioner, 2009-2013

I encourage your participation in MLEIP.  Since the program’s inception in 1992, over 2,000 college students and numerous companies have benefitted.
MLEIP is a program for and about winners –  Win for Students, Win for Employers, Win for the State of Texas and a Win for the Environment.
